Preheat oven and line baking sheets.
Cream butter and sugars until fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
Whisk dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
Fold in chocolate chips (or mix-ins).
Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
Gently flatten cookies.
Bake until golden brown.
Cool and enjoy your homemade cookies!
