INTRODUCTION :
The Kerch Strait Bridge, a major infrastructure project connecting Russia and the Crimean Peninsula, was forced to close on Saturday after an ammunition depot nearby was attacked by a Ukrainian drone strike. Ukrainian authorities claimed that the strike destroyed both the oil depot and Russian military warehouses in Russian-occupied Crimea.
The attack caused an ammunition depot to explode, said Russian-installed governor Sergei Aksyonov, adding there was no reported damage or casualties. Footage shared by state media showed a thick cloud of grey smoke at the site.
Aksyonov later said that all rail traffic in the affected area, temporarily disrupted, was back to normal operation.

A Ukrainian drone attack on Crimea damaged administrative buildings and killed a teenage girl, the region’s Moscow-installed governor said on Thursday, days after Kyiv struck a strategic bridge that links the peninsula to mainland Russia.
All necessary support will be provided to the family, he said, without providing further details on the attack or specifying where it happened.
Crimea bridge closed after fuel depot hit – Russia
A drone attack on an ammunition depot in Crimea has led to civilian evacuations and disrupted transport, Russian authorities have said.
Sergei Aksyonov, the Russian-installed governor of occupied Crimea, said Ukraine was behind the attack, without providing evidence.
Mr Aksyonov said local residents living within five kilometres of the blast were being evacuated.
Rail services across the Kerch bridge have also reportedly been halted.
Earlier on Saturday, Russian authorities stopped traffic on the bridge, but then swiftly reopened it to cars.
KYIV — A series of blasts targeting Russian weapons took place in Russian-occupied Crimea on Monday night, according to videos posted on social media.
The footage showed explosions in Dzhankoy, a town in the northern part of Crimea and a strategically important railway connection used by the Russian army. In some clips, a red cloud was visible in the night sky after the blasts. Others featured the sound of machine guns firing.
Ukrainian Military Intelligence reported that an explosion had destroyed a cargo of Russian Kalibr cruise missiles — which Moscow has used to hammer Ukrainian critical infrastructure. Ukraine has not officially taken responsibility for the attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy : President Zelenskiy said on Friday that the bridge was a legitimate target because it was a military supply route for Russia.
“This is the route used to feed the war with ammunition and this is being done on a daily basis,” he said.
Russia is on high alert for incidents at the bridge, and an official Telegram channel tells people not to panic in the event of an alarm.
In a further sign of security concerns in Crimea, Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to Aksyonov, warned people not to post images of critical infrastructure on the internet.
He urged people who knew the authors of such posts to report them to the interior ministry or the FSB security service.
