The wife of a former Auburn football player was charged with plotting to kill her estranged husband in a Bahamian court.
According to Bahamas Court News, Lindsay Shiver, 36, conspired to kill her husband, Robert Shiver, in a plot that also included 28-year-old Terrance Bethel, who is reported to be her lover, and 29-year-old Faron Newbold. Both men were also charged in the unsuccessful attempt.
Lindsay Shiver is charged with conspiracy to commit murder, while Bethel and Newbold are charged with attempted murder. All three are being held in the Bahamas’ Central Detective Unit.
Robert Shiver is a native of Thomasville, Georgia, and played long snapper at Auburn from 2006-2008. He is currently living in the Bahamas.
The case is still under investigation, and it is unclear what motivated Lindsay Shiver to allegedly plot to kill her husband. However, it is worth noting that the couple was in the process of divorcing at the time of the alleged plot.
Police uncovered the plan to murder former Auburn University football player Robert, 38, on July 16 while investigating a break-in at a bar – and say they found WhatsApp messages on that suspect’s cell phone discussing the conspiracy.
Two men, Terrance Bethel, 28 — identified by the outlet as Lindsay Shiver’s lover — and Faron Newbold, were also arrested.

Robert has worked for Senior Life Insurance Company since 2009 following the end of his American Football career.
‘Robert’s ambitions brought him here to Senior Life where his persistence and commitment has made him an integral part of the Company’s operations,’ a bio on the company’s website states.
